For students beginning their college search, visiting campus is an important step in finding the right fit. This fall, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) is offering prospective students and their families several opportunities to experience life as a Redhawk through campus visit options, including campus tours and SEMO Show Me Day events.
SEMO's signature campus visit experience, Show Me Day gives prospective students four opportunities to visit campus October 3, November 7, March 6 and April 9.
Each Show Me Day is designed to highlight SEMO's people, places and resources. As part of SEMO Show Me Day, participants and their families will enjoy campus tours of classrooms, labs and residence halls, meet with faculty and staff at the Academic Fair, explore student organizations at the Student Life Expo, enjoy lunch from the dining halls, and shop with a 20% discount at the University Bookstore. Families can also meet with representatives to learn more about the admissions process, scholarships and other resources available to help their students prepare for college. These campus tours and Show Me Day experiences make SEMO Show Me Day a premier way to explore SEMO.
"What sets us apart is the way we help students envision their future here," said Elizabeth Jeffries, assistant director of campus engagement. "Prospective students go beyond a traditional campus tour by experiencing the culture of our campus firsthand during Show Me Day and other campus visit events."
For students and families whose schedules make a daytime campus visit difficult, Twilight Tours provide a great alternative. Offered during the evening, these visits include a 30-minute admissions presentation, the ability to meet with faculty, and the chance to experience SEMO's campus at sunset. Participants will end the night with a complimentary dinner at Copper Dome Café.
Twilight Tours are offered this fall from 5-7 p.m. on September 24, October 1 and October 15.
