Southeast Missouri State University’s Office of Career Services is hosting its annual Fall Etiquette Dinner, a signature event designed to equip students with real-world dining and networking skills that set them apart in interviews, internships and their future careers. The dinner will be in Kem Statuary Hall in the Wehking Alumni Center on Tuesday, November 4 from 6-8 p.m.
“This is more than just a dinner, it’s a hands-on professional development opportunity,” said Dan Presson, assistant vice president for Economic and Workforce Development. “We want students to leave feeling confident and prepared to succeed in professional environments.”

The evening will begin with a casual mixer at 6 p.m. and participants will be invited to enjoy a five-course meal in a formal business setting. President Dr. Brad Hodson will guide students through a business dining etiquette presentation during the meal. The event will conclude at 8 p.m. with a dessert bar and coffee, offering students the opportunity to practice networking and conversational skills.
By combining experiential learning with mentorship from SEMO leadership and career professionals, the Fall Etiquette Dinner gives students the confidence to engage in professional settings and the tools to stand out. The event also invites students to connect with peers, faculty and the broader University community, fostering relationships that can extend beyond campus.
