Dr. Doug Koch has been appointed interim provost at Southeast Missouri State University effective June 1. Dr. Melissa Odegard has been appointed Interim Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies, effective August 1.
Koch has served as vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies at SEMO since 2019. Prior to SEMO, he was the vice provost of academic programs and services at the University of Central Missouri. Before UCM, he spent nine years at SEMO as a faculty member and interim chair.
Koch received his Bachelor of Science in industrial technology education from the University of Wyoming, his Master of Arts in teaching from Ball State University, and his Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction/technology education from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Melissa Odegard, chair of the Department of Psychology and Counseling, will serve of interim vice provost and dean of Graduate Studies effective Aug. 1. Dr. Odegard will maintain her chair duties this summer while providing additional support to Dr. Koch.
A search for Provost will be undertaken within the next academic year.
