University United Way Campaign Ending on October 20

  • Newswire

The annual Southeast Missouri State University United Way Campaign will be wrapping up on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Our 2022 goal is participation – we hope that many in our campus community will choose to support the United Way. Donations can be made online by visiting United Way, then select Make Your Donation no later than October 20, 2022.

Southeast employees may designate their gift to a “University Student Emergency Fund.” This fund will provide “just-in time” grants to Southeast students with financial need who are experiencing significant financial burdens that may prevent them from completing their education. Donations to this designated fund will be given to students as a grant paid directly to their student account.

What is the United Way? The United Way of Southeast Missouri provides resources to residents of Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Scott City, Perry County, and Bollinger County. This organization focuses on improving the education, income, and health of all within the communities they serve. Many people in our community depend on the generosity of all of us for assistance with basic human needs and services. Funds received by the United Way are used to ensure that children grow to be successful in life, families become financially self-sufficient, the elderly and disabled live independently for as long as possible, and citizens have a chance to receive assistance when they need it the most.
