Faculty Senate is sponsoring a blood drive on campus Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18. The drive will be located at the Student Recreation Center, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on both days.
This drive is the precursor to the Homecoming Activities that take place the following week. Our goal is to collect around 200 units of blood.
During the blood drive, we will be holding a contest between each of the departments on campus. After donating your unit of blood, proceed to the check-out table and tell us which department to credit with your donation. This will be for students, faculty, and staff. If students have more than one major or minor in different departments, we will mark you down for each of them. At the end of the two-day drive, we will tally up how many people participated from each of the departments, calculate a percentage based on how many students, faculty, and staff are in that department, and award the winner. The department with the highest percentage of donors will receive a blood drop trophy to signify their win.
Before the drive begins, make sure you make your appointments online, on the app, or call 1-800-REDCROSS. This is very important for helping to keep things on schedule. Finally, encourage others to come donate with you.
