This year's Constitution Day speaker is Dr. Julie Novkov, interim dean of the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy, a Collins Fellow, and professor of political science and women's gender and sexuality studies at the University at Albany, SUNY.
Her presentation, "Unconstituting the New Deal Order: The 2021 Supreme Court Term and the Uncertain Future of National Governance," will take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 22 in Glenn Auditorium (105 Dempster).
Dr. Novkov is the author of several books and co-edited volumes, including the award-winning "Racial Union;" and most recently with Carol Nackenoff, "American by Birth: Wong Kim Ark" and the "Battle for Citizenship." She chaired the political science department from 2011-2017 and was president of the Western Political Science Association from 2016-2017. She is a member of the path-breaking 12-woman team responsible for editing the American Political Science Review from 2020 through 2024.
