The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus will host "Plein Air Painting for Beginners" May 7 and 8 from 1-4 p.m.
This workshop is a two-day starter event for all skill levels, and no experience is necessary. Cost is $30 and preregistration is required at semo.edu/museum or in person at Crisp Museum.
During this workshop, teaching artist Ellen Hahs Flentge, Museum curator of education, will discuss her color palette and painting techniques. Participants will watch her work through her process of decision-making with composition and color.
Participants will also learn how to apply simplified techniques in their own painting practices while on location near Southeast's River Campus in downtown Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Participants who plan to paint are required to provide their own supplies to be used after Flentge's instruction time. This workshop will occur in any weather.
Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
