Heating-to-Cooling Transition, Spring/Summer Weather Preparation Now Underway in University Buildings

  • Newswire

It’s that time of year again when the University transitions from heating to cooling.

Image of a thermostat. This changeover can lead to customer inquiries about buildings being too hot or too cold. Facilities Maintenance personnel have been working to shut down certain heating systems and perform the proper maintenance to bring cooling systems online.

Facilities Management is working to ensure a seamless changeover, but weather variations may cause unanticipated fluctuations to interior temperatures as we progress through this transition. Facilities Management staff apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate patience as they perform these necessary tasks.

Those who experience a mechanical issue with the AC/heating system are encouraged to post a work order with Facilities Management by doing the following:

  1. Go to http://facilities.semo.edu
  2. Click on the “Submit a Request” on the left side
  3. Fill out the request with as much detail as possible
  4. Click the “Submit” button at the bottom
  5. An email will provide updates on the status of requests
