The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus is hosting a Watercolor Evergreen workshop Dec. 4-5.

Watercolor painting of evergreen trees during the winter. The two-day workshop is open to ages 16 and older and will be held from 1-4 p.m. both days. No experience is necessary and supplies will be provided.

Preregistration and a $30 fee is required by Nov. 19 at semo.edu/museum

During this workshops, participants will learn to create the illusion of perspective and distance with evergreen trees in the mountains, and be introduced to watercolor processes to show light and shadow in clouds, snow, mist, distant mountains and branches.

Contrasting values and gradients in color intensity, blending, and paint manipulation for different edges will make their winter evergreen scene come to life.

The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, located at 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau.
