The highlight of the breakfast will be keynote speaker Neda Ulaby who reports on arts, entertainment and cultural trends for NPR’s Arts Desk. Over the last few years, Ulaby has strengthened NPR’s television coverage both in terms of programming and industry coverage, and profiled breakout artists such as Ellen Page and Skylar Grey and behind-the-scenes tastemakers ranging from super producer Timbaland to James Schamus, chief executive officer of Focus Features.

Dan Woods, KRCU general manager says, We are so excited to welcome Neda Ulaby to Southeast Missouri State University and to Cape Girardeau to kick off our spring membership drive. Neda will also visit various classes to speak with students.

Scouring the various and often overlapping worlds of art, music, television, film, new media and literature, Ulaby’s radio and online stories reflect political and economic realities, cultural issues, obsessions and transitions, as well as artistic adventurousness and awesomeness.

KRCU has invited all of its listeners to attend and enjoy a complimentary breakfast, hear from Ulaby and make their spring membership gift. KRCU welcomes community members who would like to hear from Ulaby and learn more about the station to attend the breakfast as well.

Tim Domian, Edward Jones financial advisor, is sponsoring Ulabys visit to Southeast Missouri State University.

KRCU relies on listener financial support to help cover the cost of programming. Member support and underwriting make up more than 30 percent of the budget. Southeast Missouri State University and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting are the other two largest supporters of the station.
