CampRedhwak is a 4-day summer leadership camp created for incoming SEMO freshmen. It’s a chance to learn about campus life, traditions, and a chance to see where you’ll be spending your next four years.
Here’s 4 reasons to attend CampRedhawk this summer:
1. Make new friends
Nervous about meeting new people and building connections? At CampRedhawk you’re surrounded by tons of incoming freshmen who are also fresh to campus and in the exact same boat as you. There are endless chances to meet new friends at camp – whether it’s by teaming up during the scavenger hunt or hanging out with your roommate back at the residence hall. This is the perfect opportunity to make a ton of new friends before your first day of class!
2. Learn how to find your way around campus
CampRedhawk will have you adventuring all over SEMO's campus. Your group will visit the University Center, student housing, the Recreation Center, and downtown Cape Girardeau. After your CampRedhawk session you'll be a pro when it comes to traveling around the hillsides of campus. You can even take some time to find your future classes before the semester begins. It's the perfect time to figure out exactly how long you have to get from building to building.
3. It's fun
From zip-lining to scavenger hunts to swim parties, there’s so much going on, you won’t have time to even think about being bored. You’ll definitely have lots to tell your friends about back home once camp is over!
4. FOMO
If you want to get the most of your “college experience,” then CampRedhawk is the best way to learn about all the things you can do while you’re here. During camp, you’ll meet with student-athletes and campus staff to discover ways to get involved on campus. We’ll help you find activities and leadership opportunities that fit your interests. Trust us when we say four days at camp will teach you how to make the most of your four years on campus. You don’t want to miss out on all the good stuff!
