Educational Access Programs
Continue to main contentThe purpose of Educational Access Programs (EAP) is to enhance the quality of the educational experience for First Generation and Limited Income students through programs, services, advocacy, and referral to appropriate resources.
EAP is actively involved in the enrollment development functions of the University with respect to the recruitment and retention of students.
Educational Access Programs promotes student development by:
- Encouraging positive and realistic self-appraisal, intellectual development, clarification of values, appropriate personal choices, the understanding of a balanced approach to wellness, the ability to relate meaningfully with others, the capacity to work independently and interdependently
- Assisting students in overcoming specific personal, physical, or educational problems or skill deficiencies
- Identifying environmental conditions that may negatively influence student welfare and proposing interventions that may neutralize such conditions
Mentor Program
The purpose of the Mentor Program is to provide students with an opportunity to maintain high academic standing and acquire professional skills while building a relationship for support of professional and academic growth.
