MultipliCITY, an Exhibition of Works by M. Robyn Wall and Nathan Pietrykowski, will be on view April 3-24 in the main gallery at Catapult Creative House.

M. Robyn Wall is an interdisciplinary Canadian-American artist. She graduated with a BFA with honors from the University of Manitoba, Canada, and received her MFA from Louisiana State University. Before teaching at Arkansas State University as an Assistant Professor of Printmaking, she was Associate Professor in Studio Art at Delta State University, Mississippi.

From 2022-2024, Wall was a board member of Mid America Print Council. Her work has been shown in over on hundred exhibitions in the United States, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Portugal, Australia, Italy and Japan.

Nathan Pietrykowski is a print media artist, working and living in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He received his MFA from Louisiana State University and a BS from the University of Southern Indiana. He has exhibited his work internationally and nationally in over 150 venues including Highpoint Center of Printmaking in Minneapolis, Big Medium Gallery in Austin, Carnation Contemporary in Portland, Site: Brooklyn, and Manhattan Graphics Center in New York City.

MultipliCITY examines the multiplicity of printing processes relating to installation, mass communication, community building and the digital sphere. Both Wall and Pietrykowski work to construct the narratives of their local cityscape from different vantage points.

The foundation of Pietrykowski's artist practice is walking and recording his journeys. Using a rule-based game in the form of a printed zine, he interjects an element of chance into his trek, giving a new perspective to the urban environment. These excursions are documented through drawings and note taking. On return to the studio, these findings are redrawn and collaged together, becoming prints, community projects, artist books and installations.

Collage is also an important strategy in Wall's process. Her prints are a synthesis of drawings, photo documentation, 3D modeling, weaving and handmade paper. Materials are intrinsic to her work and include locally sourced plant fiber, recycled paper and fabric. Wall's work examines the transient state of her townscape constructing its visual history. Her prints recall personal memories tied to place reflecting on regionally aesthetics and behaviors.

An opening reception for MultipliCITY will take place on Friday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m. in Catapult Creative House.
