David C. Martin of Bernie, Mo., was appointed by Missouri Governor Michael L. Parson in January 2022 with a term expiring January 1, 2028.
Mr. Martin grew up in Southeast Missouri. He has worked on his family farm since the late 1970’s before attending Southeast Missouri State University and earning a bachelor of science in agribusiness. He has been serving on the Missouri Rice Advisor Board since 2007 and on the Missouri Rice Research and Merchandising Council since 2015. In the year 2020 he served as the Chairman of the Missouri Rice Research and Merchandising Council. Martin has been serving on the Rice Foundation Board since 2017 and on the USA Rice Federation Policy Task Force since 2020.
Martin currently serves as owner and operator of Martin Grain Company, Martin Landgrading, and Martin Rice Company.
During his free time, He likes to cook and travel.
