Southeast Missouri State University’s Giving Day 2025 was a success, surpassing its $360,000 goal and demonstrating the power of the collective generosity of the SEMO community. Thanks to the support of alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends of the University, the one-day fundraising campaign raised a record-breaking $368,106 to support student success and campus initiatives.
“SEMO Giving Day is a powerful reminder of the generosity and dedication of the University community,” said Wendell Snodgrass, vice president of university advancement and executive director of the Southeast Missouri University Foundation. “Every gift—no matter the size—helps us create meaningful opportunities for our students and continue SEMO’s tradition of excellence.”
Throughout the day, donors contributed to specific programs, scholarships, and initiatives that resonated with them, amplifying their impact through matching gift opportunities and donor challenges. The event was part of the ongoing Transforming Lives comprehensive campaign, which has now reached 86% of its $60 million goal.
In addition to fundraising efforts, the University Foundation and the Alumni Association hosted three engagement events across Missouri, bringing together SEMO supporters to celebrate Giving Day.
“Giving Day is a chance to come together as a community and celebrate the impact we can have when we give back,” said Kristen Seabaugh, annual fund coordinator for University Advancement. “We are thrilled by the overwhelming support and enthusiasm reflected in the 947 gifts received during Giving Day. We are deeply grateful for this incredible commitment to our students and the future of SEMO.”
As SEMO continues its Transforming Lives campaign, the success of Giving Day 2025 stands as a testament to the power of philanthropy and the unwavering support of the Redhawk community. Every contribution plays a vital role in shaping the future of Southeast Missouri State University and its students.
