Stroder Named Assistant Director of Southeast’s Early College Programs

Karie Stroder has been named Assistant Director of Early College Programs.

Portrait of Karie Stroder.The Assistant Director of Early College Programs supports the operations of dual credit, dual enrollment, and early college programming. They work in collaboration with area schools and academic departments to ensure Southeast is providing high quality curriculum consistent with its National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) accreditation standards.

The Assistant Director is also responsible for ensuring the University deliver a high-level of service to students, parents and schools through seamless advising, registration and other supports. 

The position is part of Southeast’s Extended Studies and reports to the Director of Southeast Online and Early College Programs, Chelsea Caile McNeely. 

“Karie's years of experience working at Southeast in the Office of Admissions, with education majors, and as an academic advisor make her uniquely qualified for this position,” McNeely said. “Her care for students and connections across our region will facilitate a continued strong presence for us in Southeast Missouri and beyond.” 

Stroder began her career at Southeast in 2004 as an admissions counselor for the Office of Admissions. She has also served as an advising coordinator for the former College of Education from 2010-2015, and as an advisor II in the Office of Academic Advising. She earned a Bachelor of Science in interpersonal communications from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in higher education administration from Southeast. 

“I am excited to work in Early College Programs and continue to grow this program that provides early access to college for high school students,” Stroder said. “There are so many benefits to earning college credit while in high school and I plan to foster strong and positive relationships with the high schools in our service region.”
