The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phithe nations oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplinesrecently recognized the Southeast Missouri State University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi as the Division III recipient of the 2021 Phi Kappa Phi Week Award.The Council of Students of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi awarded Southeasts chapter #260 with the Week Award because of their participation in a weeklong national celebration of the societys chapters and member achievements called PKP Week. Southeast's chapter was one of five chapters among 325 campuses to receive the 2021 Week Award.Southeasts PKP Week included a literacy campaign and a discussion of service projects such as the Born-to-Read program, Redhawk Readers and Redhawk Talks. Members wore society apparel throughout the week in celebration of the society, its chapters and member achievements.Dr. Suhair Amer, Southeast professor of computer science at and chapter president, said, We are proud that we were recognized for our efforts. We were resourceful in coming up with events and activities for the week. I would like to thank all members and officers who made time in their busy schedules to participate and help with the chapter.
