Ten Southeast Missouri State University students were honored with scholarships.
Ten Southeast Missouri State University students were honored with scholarships during Southeasts Power of Women Digital Summit on April 28. The recipients are:
- Sydney Dittlinger, Benton, Mo., junior marketing major
- Grace Doherty, Ballwin, Mo., junior elementary education major and a minor in middle school language arts
- Tori Ehlers, Elkville, Ill., junior health sciences major with an option in pre-physical and occupational therapy
- Baylee Etter, Auburn, Ill., junior accounting major
- Emma Hurst, Marble Hill, Mo., senior social work major and a minor in criminal justice
- Clorinda James, Cape Girardeau, Mo., first-year graduate student pursing a Master of Arts in communication disorders
- Isabelle Jones, Willow Springs, Mo., senior historic preservation major
- Emma Sherrow, Dyersburg, Tenn., senior nursing major
- Ciara Southard, Springfield, Tenn., junior theatre and exceptional child education double major
- Shannon Strayhorn, OFallon, Mo., senior nursing major
The Power of Women Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate a passion for a life of service, are attending Southeast full-time and have completed at least 30 credit hours with a minimum 2.75 grade point average. Each recipient submitted an application demonstrating significant academic achievement, involvement at the University and commitment to volunteerism and community service. The Power of Women Scholarship Committee selected the recipients based on these factors as well as their future aspirations for success in their career and personal life. news.semo.edu/2021-power-of-women-scholarship-recipients.The tenth annual event featured keynote speakers retired NASA astronaut Dr. Linda Godwin and IBM global leader Ashley AuBuchon-Arcand, both Southeast alumnae. Godwin is an emeritus professor of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Missouri, where she still serves in an adjunct capacity.
