Eric Redinger has been named director of Recreation Services at Southeast Missouri State University effective immediately.

He has been serving in this role in an interim capacity since December 2020, replacing Mike Buck.

The University is fortunate to have a committed professional like Eric that has a passion for recreation services and supporting students to serve as Director, said Dr. Bruce Skinner, associate vice president for student life. I look forward to working with Eric as he moves into this new role and believe he and the rest of the staff within Student Recreation Services, will continue to develop programs and services that benefit our students and the entire University community.

Redinger joined Southeast in 2003 and has served in various capacities for the University, including Student Recreation Center facility coordinator, assistant director of Outdoor Adventure, assistant director of Facilities and Outdoor Adventure, and most recently as associate director of Recreation Services since August 2014.

He is a member of Southeasts Title IX Hearing Panel, Professional Staff Council, Southeast Missouri State Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) Steering Committee, Redhawks Club, Show Me Center Board of Managers, and the Cape Girardeau Public Librarys Board of Trustees. He received a Master of Science in nutrition and exercise science from Southeast, and a Bachelor of Science in fitness-wellness management from Dakota State University.

As director for Recreation Services, Redinger will be responsible for leading the programmatic, facility and staff of a comprehensive recreation and wellness department. He will oversee responsibility for multiple facilities, a wide range of student and employee recreation programs, and supervision of professional and student staff members working to accomplish the departments mission of providing quality facilities, innovative programs and services that meet the diverse recreational needs of the University community.
