The 2020-21 season of Southeast Missouri State Universitys River Campus Sundays at Three series will conclude on April 25 with Featuring Southeast.
The concert is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Recital Hall. Face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place. Due to capacity limits, patrons are encouraged to reserve their seats early.
The concert will feature a combination of faculty and students and will include Southeasts student wind quintet, TWABI Winds, who will perform the classic quintet work Three Shanties by Malcolm Arnold. Dr. Gabrielle Baffoni, series director and associate professor of single reeds, and percussion professor Dr. Shane Mizicko will perform a piece for clarinet and marimba titled Clarimba by Jorge Montilla.
The series finale will feature in-house chamber music concert, Baffoni said.
The program will show off what our faculty and students have been up to this year, Baffoni said. Weve been surprisingly busy despite the pandemic, and Id like to feature that activity.
The program will also showcase Dr. Christopher Goeke, professor of music, Dr. Barb Lamont, director of choral activities, and Dr. Timothy Schmidt, professor of music, as well as Dr. Nicholas Kenney, assistant professor of horn; contributing works to the concert that range from traditional hymn arrangements to Benjamin Brittens Canticle III: Still Falls the Rain.
