Visual artist Edo Rosenblith will display his work at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus Art Gallery in September.
The exhibit, titled Phantasmagoria II Edo & Lead Rosenblith The Radiant Twins!, opens Sept. 4 and will remain on display through Sept. 25. A virtual artists talk is scheduled for noon on Sept. 16 on Instagram Live at @rivercampusartgallery. The River Campus Art Gallerys Instagram page will also be a source for images and video walkthroughs of the show.

We are excited to welcome St. Louis-based artist, Edo Rosenblith to campus to kick off our fall exhibition season, said Justin Miller, associate professor of art and exhibitions coordinator. Mr. Rosenblith has been involved with numerous important public and private art ventures throughout the Midwest and is a board member of Monaco Gallery (St. Louis, Missouri).I believe his blending of pop culture, mythology and a graphic/cartoonish style will appeal to a very broad audience.
Rosenblith works with a range of art forms including painting, illustration, sculpture, printmaking, murals and performance. His densely populated, cartoonish compositions delve into themes of allegory, politics, consumption and the human condition.
He was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, but has spent most of his life in the United States.
Also a freelance instructor, Rosenblith earned a Master of Fine Arts in visual art from Washington University in St. Louis in 2017, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2011.
Rosenblith has exhibited throughout St. Louis at venues such as The Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis, Washington Universitys Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum and the University of Missouri St Louiss Gallery 210, as well as nationally at the So Ortega Y Gasset Projects in Brooklyn, New York, The International Print Center, New York and Chicagos Elmhurst Museum.
Additionally, his work has been displayed in international exhibits at the Jenifer Nails Gallery in Frankfurt and Weserburg Museum in Bremen, Germany. A two-year survey of Edos sketchbook drawings became the content of his first book, PINK, published by Fort Gondo Press in 2013.
His work has been featured in Keep Eyes Magazine, All The Art Quarterly and New American Paintings. He has won numerous awards including the Cite Residency Artist Grant from Washington University; the Vermont Studio Center Artist Grant; the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Power of Art Grant; and the Florence-Leif Peers Grant for Painters.
The River Campus Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the historic Seminary Building in Room 106. River Campus Art Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-7 p.m. on First Fridays.
All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. Face coverings will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be in place.
