Nathan Bullock
Nathan Bullock, executive director of academic program development in the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at Delaware Valley University, has been named dean of Extended Studies at Southeast Missouri State University.
He will begin his new duties Feb. 1 in this newly configured dean of Extended Studies position. He replaces Marsha Blanchard, dean of regional campuses, who is retiring this month after nearly 20 years of service to Southeast.
Prior to his current role, he served as director of Off-Campus & Outreach Programs at Rutgers University-Camden (New Jersey). Over his career, he also has held positions as director of Adult Credit Programs at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City; operations manager of Executive MBA Programs at Columbia University; and coordinator of the Weekend College and academic advisor at Dallas Baptist University.
As a native son of southeast Missouri, I am excited to bring my experience in regional campuses, online programs, and professional education to an already strong team, said Bullock, who is originally from Wardell, Missouri. Southeast has a clear and sustained commitment to providing low cost, high quality education to its communities, and that makes this opportunity even more appealing. My own education has made all the difference in my life, and I believe in its potential to do the same for students across the region, which will power needed economic development.
Bullock will oversee Southeasts regional campuses and provide leadership in developing industry partnerships to meet the regions workforce needs. He will provide entrepreneurial leadership of strategic operations to expand the Universitys presence in online, adult and continuing education; and implement innovative programs that meet workforce needs. He also will lead collaborative efforts on distance education and explore and implement strategic initiatives and services to community stakeholders. Other duties will include championing college degree attainment for working adults and leading promotional efforts for Extended Studies, non-traditional students, summer sessions, wintersession and for off-campus, distance learning, dual credit, contract training and Regional Campus programs. Bullock will supervise Extended Studies staff, including the directors of Southeast online, Dual Credit and Regional Campuses.
I am excited to have Mr. Bullock join Southeast Missouri State University and the academic affairs leadership team, said Dr. Mike Godard, Southeast provost. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the areas of extended studies, and I am confident that he will hit the ground running and have an immediate positive impact. The reconfigured extended studies division will now allow for more synergistic approaches as the regional campuses and delivery sites along with Southeast Online and Dual Credit are all under the umbrella of Extended Studies. I could not think of a better person to lead this newly organized division than Mr. Bullock.
Bullock holds a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Williams Baptist University; a Master of Arts in organizational management from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Public Administration in advanced management and finance from Columbia University. He is also currently working on a doctoral degree in applied learning sciences through the University of Miami.
