Tree Planting to Honor University’s Century of Service to Rotary

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Rotary in Cape Girardeau and in recognition of the service of all University Rotarians, a black gum tree will be planted in front of Academic Hall at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 5. The tree, which produces Redhawk-red fall foliage, will commemorate 100 years of dedicated and selfless service to Rotary by the University’s faculty, staff, administration and alumni. A plaque from the Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau and the Rotary Club of Cape Girardeau-West will accompany the tree. The campus community is invited to the tree planting.
