Seventh Annual Health Communication Webinar May 1

The 7th Annual Health Communication Webinar will be held at noon Wednesday, May 1in the Forrest H. Rose Theatre in Grauel Building.

Dr. Robert Hamblin,professor emeritus of English at Southeast, will present “Caring for Caregiver: Writing through the Process of Caring for a Beloved with Alzheimers Disease.”Hamblin will share his recent experiences caring for his wife, Kaye, and how he found writing poetry therapeutic.

After discussing Alzheimers and other dementias, as well as therapeutic communication challenges for caregivers, Hamblin will read from his book of poetry, “Descending Darkness.”

A book signing will follow the reading, and books will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds benefitting Alzheimers research.
