Two open forums that will provide a general overview of what self-insurance for health benefits would mean for both the University and employees are planned for today, April 30. The first is scheduled for 10 a.m.-noon in Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall. The second is slated for 3-5 p.m. in Academic Auditorium. Human Resources has posted information regarding self-insurance on the employee portal, including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), a communication timeline, and contact information for the Benefits Review Subcommittee. In addition, an online form is available on the portal for employees to submit questions for discussion at the upcoming open forums. These informational items can be accessed under the Employee tab under University Updates. Employees should continually check the portal for updates to these informational items in the coming months.

Representatives of Sonus Benefits, a benefits consultant contracted by the University last August, will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. This will be an opportunity to learn more and provide input as the University considers strategies to control long term health insurance costs. The campus community is invited to the forums.
