Bradley Phillips

Pedal Damn It!, a discussion about sustaining artistic momentum, will be the focus of the March 7 installment of the After Hours: Conversations on Art and Culture series at Southeast Missouri State Universitys Catapult Creative House.

The lecture is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the classroom at Catapult, 612 Broadway in downtown Cape Girardeau. This event is free and open to the public.

Bradley Phillips, an associate professor of photography at Southeast, will discuss the topic of sustaining artistic momentum, a challenge all creative artists face at one time or another. Overcoming the inability to create new work or pushing past a complete lack of inspiration often requires digging deep to find a greater sense of purpose. Phillips will share anecdotal stories of his own struggles and how riding bikes is often the solution to most problems.

Phillips is the multimedia coordinator at Southeasts Catapult Creative House. He received his Bachelor of Arts in professional photography from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, California, and earned his masters degree in visual studies from the University at Buffalo-State University of New York.
