Southeast to Observe World AIDS Day Dec. 3

Southeast Missouri State University will observe World AIDS Day Monday, Dec. 3, with a free viewing of RENT in the University Center Indian Room.Showtime is scheduled for 7 p.m., and the event is open to the public.The original rock musical by Jonathan Larson tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and creating a life inNew York City'sEast Villagein the thriving days ofBohemianAlphabet City, under the shadow ofHIV/AIDS.During the film screening, the Butler County Health Department will be on site to provide private, rapid HIV testing in the University Center Heritage Room. Counseling will be made available.Southeasts World AIDS Day is sponsored by Southeasts LGBTQ+ Resource Center, SEMO PRIDE, LGBTQ+ Employee Alliance, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Butler County Health Department.
