The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will host All-in-One Auditions (A1) Nov. 7 at Southeasts Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins River Campus Center.
The auditions are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Nov. 7 and will serve as pre-screening auditions for the 2019 A1 Conference. The annual conference will be held Jan 17-20 in New York City, New York, and will provide actors the opportunity to audition for artistic directors and casting directors from leading regional theatres.
The free pre-screenings will include singing appointments in the Dobbins River Campus Center Room 114 and an optional dance call in the Dobbins River Campus Center Room 119. Actors who pass the pre-screening process Nov. 7 will be eligible to attend the A1 Conference for a $125 fee.
Participation in pre-screening will provide students the opportunity to experience the audition process, said Joshua Harvey, instructor of musical theatre at Southeast.
Harvey said the selection of Southeasts Conservatory as a pre-screening site speaks well about its reputation in the musical theatre field.
A1 solicited us as a pre-screening location, he said. Its a good sign of the growth of the program and its validity.
To attend the Nov. 7 pre-screening auditions, actors must apply by Nov. 5 at http://a1auditions.com/submit.html, click Submit Application and select SEMO for the pre-screening location. Applicants are also required to send a headshot and resume as PDF files to info@thea1s.com with their full name in the subject line. Payment is not required to attend the pre-screening.
