The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum is hosting a “Beginner Cartooning Face and Figure” workshop Oct. 23 and 30 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
A preregistration fee of $10 is due by Oct. 22 for ages nine to adult. Supplies are provided.The workshop is in conjunction with the Crisp Museums “Comic Book Art from the Collection of Terry Godwin” exhibition on display Nov. 2-Jan. 27.
Additionally, the Museum is hosting a Youth Comic Character Drawing Contest celebrating Cape Comic Con and is open to youth ages 5-15. A contest entry page and details of the rules may be picked up between Oct. 23-Nov. 2. Entry pages are due by noon, Nov. 3. All original character entries will be displayed Nov. 3-Jan. 27 at the Crisp Museum.
The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State Universitys River Campus, located at 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, 1-4 p.m. on weekends and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the first Friday of the month. The museum will be closed Nov. 22-25 and Dec. 22-Jan. 1, 2019.
