Opening Week is just around the corner! Just a few helpful reminders to help you, and any students you may encounter, have the best possible experience as our campus community returns for Fall 2018.Aug. 6-10:- Resident Assistants are already on campus for training, as well as many of our student athletes and international students have begun arriving.

- Early arrivals begin moving into residence halls

- SE101 Training (for faculty and staff who have registered to participate)
- Greek students move into the residence halls
- International student enrollment
- Move-in day volunteers arrive (more than 1,000 students are already in the residence halls by the end of the day)

- Centralized move-in for all students arriving on this day is at the Student Recreation Center from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Students should not go to their buildings until they have completed the check-in process. - Please remember that traffic on campus is carefully controlled on this day!The following road or lot closures may impact your travel to campus on that day, or the travel of any visitors to your office:
- Please limit traffic on Henderson Avenue,particularly between Broadway and Normal Avenue, for pedestrian safety.
- No traffic will be allowed down New Madrid Street past the intersection at Henderson Avenue (eastbound) or from the Sprigg Street intersection (westbound)from 7 a.m-2 p.m.
- Greek Drive will be open to allow faculty and staff, as well as guests and students, access to the parking near Rhodes Hall, Magill Hall, Johnson Hall and the Otto and Della Seabaugh Polytechnic Building.
- Should you exit Greek Drive onto New Madrid Street, please exercise extreme caution and be aware of possible congestion and delaysas you enter traffic exiting the centralized process at the Student Recreation Center.
- The following parking lots will beunavailable from 5 a.m. until2 p.m.:
- The Student Recreation Center guest lot, located west of the building
- Parking Lot 1-21, west of Merick and Vandiver residence halls
- Parking Lots 1-8 and 1-9, south of and in front of Houck Field House
- Parking Lot 1-20, south of Kent Library
- Parking Lot 1-23, spaces along Dearmont Court between the University Center and Kent Library
- Parking Lot 1-24, spaces east of Dearmont Hall in the side alley
- Staff are encouraged to use instead the following parking lots:
- Parking Lot 2-9, on the corner of Pacific Street and Normal Avenue and north of Grauel Building
- Parking Lots 1-18 and 1-19, east of the International Center on College Hill
- Parking Lot 1-25, south of the Forrest H. Rose Theatre along Watkins Drive
- Additionally, staff are encouraged to avoid parking on College Hill to allow shuttles to safely pass.
