The Chateau Girardeau Sundays at Three series opens the 2018-2019 season with Baffoni, Braddock, Lin and Lopes at 3 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast Missouri State Universitys River Campus.Series director Gabrielle Baffoni joins forces with Ching-Yi Lin, Andy Braddock and Zachary Lopes of Western Kentucky University (WKU) to present a program of music for clarinet, violin, viola and piano.[caption id="attachment_30059" align="alignright" width="238"]
Ching-Yi Lin[/caption]Baffoni is assistant professor of single reeds at Southeast and performs as principal clarinetist with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra in Kentucky, and appears regularly with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra.While she has performed with each of these talented musicians separately, this will be the first time all four of them will come together for a chamber music program, Baffoni said.They are all great musicians and friends. Andrew Braddock[/caption]The program will include a pairing of Robert SchumannsFairy Taleswith Gyrgy KurtgsHommage Robert Schumann, a performance of a duo by Bohuslav Martin for violin and viola, and Bla BartksContrasts, a cornerstone piece in the repertoire for clarinet, violin and piano.Joining Baffoni, performer Lin serves as concertmaster of the symphony, artist violin faculty, and heads the Pre-College Violin/Viola Program at WKU.Braddock is a viola professor at WKU and with the WKU Pre-College Strings Program.He teaches viola at the university and maintains a full pre-college studio of young violinists and violists.[caption id="attachment_30061" align="alignright" width="238"]
