River Campus Announces 2018-2019 Season Lineup

Southeast Missouri State Universitys River Campus invites patrons to another remarkable season of music, art, theatre and museum exhibits during the 2018-2019 season.

The 12th River Campus season will, again, offer a spectacular breadth of performing arts events by professional touring companies as well as Southeasts departments of music and art, The Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance, and the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum.

Season tickets and individual ticket sales for next years season are now on sale to the public.

Highlights of the upcoming season, subject to change, include Turn it UP! The New Sound of New Orleans, Evita, and RENT in the Bank of Missouri Touring Series; Jesus Christ Superstar, Sister Act, and Othello in the Rhodes 101 Stops and Commerce Bank Conservatory of Theatre and Dance Series; and Handels celebrated masterpiece, Messiah, and Verdis world renowned, Requiem performed as part of the Cuba Financial Southeast Missouri Symphony Series.

Its going to be an amazing year, said Bob Cerchio, assistant director of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts. From New Orleans to New York, these national touring shows, by major East Coast producers, will bring exciting entertainment to Cape.

Moscow Ballets The Great Russian Nutcracker” returns to the River Campus Dec. 11.

Back by popular demand is Moscow Ballets The Great Russian Nutcracker, one of the most beloved full-length ballets of all time that brings the holiday spirit to life for all ages. Other special events to captivate audiences include a performance by country music legend Gene Watson, and the Paper Doll Militia in Warped, an aerial theatre experience embracing the mysteries of time.

Additionally, this season will offer concerts throughout the year featuring the talents of Southeasts finest student-musicians, faculty and esteemed faculty guest musicians; an Arte Cubano display and documentary film screening, panel discussion and concert in the Crisp Museum; and many student exhibitions in the River Campus Art Gallery.

Returning again to the 2018-2019 season will be Art Cuisine evenings in which patrons can purchase dinner before select performances at the River Campus St. Vincent Commons dining facility located in the Kenneth and Jeanine Dobbins River Campus Center. Reservations are required by contacting Chartwells Dining Services at (573) 651-2511. Complete information, registration and menu information will be mailed directly to all ticket patrons. The River Campus Box Office is currently accepting season ticket orders only for the Cuba Financial Southeast Missouri Symphony Series, the Bank of Missouri Touring Series and the Rhodes 101 Stops and Commerce Bank Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance Series or for a Master Series consisting of all three. New this year for musical lovers, is the Broadway Package, which offers four big musical productions of the season, including Jesus Christ Superstar, RENT, Sister Act, and Evita!

The Crisp Museum’s “Arte Cubano” exhibition Aug. 24-Oct. 28 highlights Cuban art, culture and diversity.

Season tickets will remain on sale through the opening day of the first show in each of the respective series, although the chance of getting the same seat for every event diminishes as the date of the first performance nears.

Most Series events will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. Seating in the Bedell is divided into three price ranges for the Touring Series, Master Series and Broadway Packages. Top price seats include orchestra,mezzanine andlower balcony sections; mid-price seats arelocated in the upper balcony rows A-D; lower price seats are in the upper balcony rows E and F. Tickets for the four-event Touring Series are $166, $150 and $130. Tickets for the Master Series (all 14 events over the three series) are $348, $320 and $300. Tickets for the Broadway Package are $124, $114 and $104.

Seating in the Bedell is divided into two price ranges for the Symphony Series and Theatre and Dance Series. Top price seats include the orchestra, mezzanine and lower balcony sections; lower price seats are in the upper balcony. Tickets for the four-event Symphony Series are $68 and $60. Tickets for the six-event Theatre and Dance Series are $114 and $110.
