Annual Hamblin Lecture April 12 Features George Mason University Professor

Southeast Missouri State University will present the Robert W. Hamblin Lecture, Undead Souths: The Gothic and Beyond in Southern Literature and Culture, given by Dr. Eric Gary Anderson, associate professor of English at George Mason University, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 in Ballroom A of the University Center.The event is free and open to the public.Anderson is the co-editor of the recent book "Undead Souths: The Gothic and Beyond in Southern Literature and Culture," a collection of essays that examines versions of undead-ness in texts from Edgar Allen Poes short stories to Cormac McCarthys novels to HBOs hit series "True Blood." He is the author of "American Indian Literature and the Southwest: Contexts and Dispositions" and a former president of the Society for the Study of Southern Literature.
