Southeast welcomes Dr. Tami Eggleston of the National Institute for Learning Outcomes and Assessment (NILOA) to inform academic assessment plans and processes.The Academic Assessment Committee at Southeast is drafting a revised University plan for academic assessment, which will provide a vision, rationale, framework and process for academic assessment for the next five to 10 years. The plan will also include institutional learning outcomes and a new process for assessing the University Studies program. Over the past two years, work has been done to create and align program-level learning outcomes, to implement annual program assessment activities, and to enhance program review processes. The plan intends to reflect this work and to establish a roadmap for learning improvement.Eggleston, associate dean for institutional effectiveness and professor of psychology at McKendree University, will join a team at Southeast as the appointed NILOA assessment coach.NILOA assessment coaches are funded by the Lumina Foundation and provide a free service to institutions. Eggleston will visit Southeast on March 9 to host conversations and an interactive workshop.
