Information Technology (IT) has published the seventh online issue of its quarterly e-newsletter, “Tech Talk,” in an effort to enhance communication and technology awareness. The January issue contains items of interest and technology that may impact technology users within the University community while at work or at home. This issue can be accessed from the Guides section of the Information Technology website or at http://semo.edu/it/tech-talk/.

Topics in this edition include using Canva as an alternative to PowerPoint, budgeting for technology, technology favorites of 2017, identifying and responding to hacking, data backup, campus software deadlines, faculty development and staff training opportunities and information that will help the University community keep up with happenings in the IT Department. Wrapping up this issue on a fun note, check out “IT Pet Match” and see which pet owners resemble their pets.
