Job shadowing is a great opportunity for Southeast Missouri State University students to explore their future while working towards a professional career after college. Thats why Southeasts Academic Support Centers and the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce are teaming up again this fall to offer their Connect Cape: Job Shadow program. This is the second semester the program has been offered, giving students access and connections to area employers to help them explore their career field of interest and gain information, knowledge and skills essential for the workplace. Students are placed with professionals in their field of interest with companies participating in the Job Shadow program. The experience is designed to give students an up-close look at the day-to-day operations in various area workplaces.Eligible students must have a 2.75 grade point average, have completed at least 30 credit hours of course work and be enrolled full time at Southeast. Some companies also require that students be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applications are being accepted through Sept. 18. Students may apply online at http://semo.edu/academic-support-centers/outreach/students.html .Orientations are scheduled for Sept. 26 and 28, with job shadowing to begin in October.Last year, students with the following majors were paired with professionals in these partnering organizations.
