COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2016 Cheryl Reinagel, administrative assistant in the Department of Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University, was named an Honorary State FFA Degree recipient at the 88th Missouri FFA Convention.
Reinagel says one of her most memorable moments while interacting with FFA members was when FFA students brought in several large bags filled with shoes to donate to Soles4Souls during the 2015 FFA district contest at the Show Me Center.
Reinagel says the students are one of the reasons she enjoys her job.
Our students leave a lasting impression of hope for me, she said. Whether they are college students or high school students, they are shaping our future with their dedication to education and agriculture.
The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients at its annual state convention for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of the board of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agricultural education, business professionals and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA while rendering outstanding service.
The Missouri FFA has 25,920 members representing 340 chapters. The national organization has more than 629,000 members representing 7,757 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
