The deadline for proposals for the Provost’s 2016 Faculty Research and Creativity Showcase has been extended to April 6.

Southeast Provost Karl Kunkel will host this year’s showcase to celebrate the research, creativity and pedagogical work of Southeast faculty and academic affairs staff from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. The Provost’s 2016 Faculty Research and Creativity Showcase will take place at the River Campus. A faculty wine and cheese reception will follow from 5:30-7 p.m.

The showcase will feature verbal or media presentations, performances, poster sessions, displays of work and other types of presentations. The showcase is open to the following genres: research, creative works, pedagogical or technological exploration, or works in progress. The guidelines are listed below.

Verbal/media presentations:

Must be 15 minutes or less (10-12 minutes plus Q&A time).

Displays:

Indicate how many tables or how much floor space is necessary (no last-minute spaces).

**Bring any display materials necessary (display stands/easels, tape, etc.).

Set up:

Scheduled for the morning of April 20; no set up after noon.

Removal:

All materials must be removed from the River Campus by 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 20.

The work must have been created, researched or published within the last three years. To submit, send a brief 100-300 word description of your proposal, space requested, tech pack needs and contact information to Dr. Susan Swartwout at sswartwout@semo.edu. All proposals will be reviewed by the Provost’s Faculty Research Showcase Committee. There is a limited amount of space and time slots. This is a first to request, first reserved event.
