To prevent this, we have found the best study spots on SEMO’s campus to help you boost productivity. Check out these study spots the next time you're searching for a place to soak in all the knowledge.

1. Inside of Kent Library

The inside of Kent Library has student study rooms and lounge areas that offer great spaces for group projects or individual study sessions. For group projects, it’s a good idea to reserve one of the study rooms. Each room comes with a whiteboard and TV with an HDMI cord that makes it easy to map out all that needs to be done. They are closed off, so you don’t have to worry about disrupting other students. By reserving it, you’ll know for sure that there is a space open.

2. UC Lobby & Lounge

For assignments that don’t require complete concentration, the UC lounge is a favorite spot. The couches are comfortable, and there are plenty of outlets nearby for charging laptops. Friends grabbing food often pass by and join in.

5. The Beanery

The Beanery is definitely a student favorite for study spots on campus. With a coffee in hand, it’s hard to resist hanging out for a study session. This spot is especially popular for assignments that aren’t timed, allowing students to easily switch between conversation and completing their work.

9. Second Floor of Dempster

The tables on the second floor of Dempster offer a large surface for spreading out study materials and feature swivel chairs that provide slight movement, helping students stay focused without needing frequent stretch breaks. The tables face a wall, minimizing distractions, and there is plenty of nearby seating available for group projects as well.

10. River Campus Backyard

River Campus offers some of the most beautiful spots at SEMO. The back of the building, overlooking the river, provides a peaceful setting for a change of scenery. There are multiple benches available, but many students enjoy bringing a blanket to sit on the grass while working. In early spring, this location becomes a favorite for those looking to enjoy the warm weather after the winter months.
