What Is a SE Key? 

Your SE Key grants you access to your central SEMO account. These credentials act as single sign-on for most systems. If your SE Key is not activated, or your password and multi-factor authentication are not set up correctly, you will be unable to log into your portal, register for orientation or housing, be considered for Endowed & Sponsored scholarship opportunities or accept your financial aid offer. You may also miss important university communication to your SEMO email. 

If you are unable to log in as a current student, you lose access to your mySEMO, email, SupportNET plus all your classes in Canvas where you view assignments and digital course materials. 

How do you find your SE Key for your mySEMO account? 

All students can activate or manage their SE Key through the SEMO Account Management page. The SEMO student portal will have you log in with your SE Key if you press the log into mySEMO link.

What happens after you activate your SE Key? 

After you activate your SE Key, you will have access to all the campus systems you will need for your classes and life on campus. This will also enable you to sign up for orientation. Be on the lookout for an email through your personal email account including registration details.  

How to recover your SEMO SE Key:

If you are having login issues with the SEMO SE Key, you’re not alone! Many students experience challenges with remembering their password, getting locked out of their account or losing access to their multi-factor authentication tool. We’re here to help you troubleshoot! 

Retrieving your SEMO SE Key is simple. All users with a SE Key can self-reset their password at any time using reset.semo.edu.  

As an admitted student, your Admissions Counselor or the IT Help Desk can assist you with getting your account activated or password reset.  

Current SEMO students should contact the IT Help Desk for support with their SE Key, mySEMO portal, multi-factor authentication or single sign-on to any SEMO system. If you are having issues with accessing digital materials within a course, contact your instructor. 

 

All students are strongly encouraged to activate and test their SE Key before each semester begins, check their SEMO email regularly, and address any login issues as soon as possible to avoid disruptions to coursework.
