Online Master's in Educational Technology Careers & Outcomes

What You'll Study

The time it takes to earn a degree will vary based on factors such as dual enrollment, remediation, and summer enrollment. Students meet with an academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their progress.

Core Courses:

  • GR698 Master's Final Comprehensive Exam (0)
  • SE600 Multimedia in Education (3)
  • SE638 Improvement of Instruction & Assessment (3)
  • SE641 Teaching in a Multicultural Society (3)
  • SE642 Secondary Curriculum Development (3)
  • EA653 Curriculum for Leaders in Education (3)

Educational Studies Option:

Choose 12 hours from any subject specialty area – Autism, Educational Studies, English, or Science

  • 500-600 level in BI, BY, CF, CH, EA, ED, EN, EX, GG, GH, GO, HP, LI, PH, PL, PS, PY, SE, SS, ST, TL, TN, US, or WH.

These two programs do not require an internship or practicum. However, the Educational Studies option best serves those students who are current teachers.

NOTE: The Educational Technology option is online only.
This program does not lead to teacher certification.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the criteria established for general admission to graduate studies, applicants must have the following:
  1. Undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale
International applicants must also have a minimum IELTS Academic score of 7.0, TOEFL iBT score of 95, PTE Academic score of 64 or Duolingo English score of 125. This requirement is for non-United States citizens who are not native English speakers. Students from countries where English is known to be the official language of education are exempt from English proficiency verification. Probationary Admission

Probationary admission will be considered by the Office of Admissions if the applicant presents a GPA that is 2.5 to 2.74. The applicant must complete six hours of graduate level course work in the core area of study with a grade of ‘B’ or higher to continue in the program.

Appeals Process

Applicants who are denied admission can appeal to the College of Education, Health, and Human Studies Admission Appeals Committee, which is composed of one representative from each program offering a graduate program.

Graduation Requirement

Students must attain an overall GPA of 3.25 to graduate from the program.
