We understand your transition to college is changing. We're all learning new processes, and in true Southeast Missouri State fashion, at least we're learning them together.
The format for 2021 orientation and enrollment events is explained below.
During this time, we're more committed than ever to helping you navigate college and stay on track to join us in the fall. We have a robust orientation process- and that won't change- because we want to promote your educational, career, professional and social deveopment while helping you understand your options and resources.
At Southeast, we are committed to making the transition to our campus community easier for you. Transfer Orientation is for all students who have completed 24 or more college credit hours prior to enrollment at Southeast. This optional program is designed to familiarize students and guests alike with academic guidelines and campus services available at Southeast.
Transfer Orientation introduces you to the personal support systems in place to set you up for amazing achievements in your time on campus. We give you the time and place to meet with your academic advisor in one of our groundbreaking academic areas that will help you launch an extraordinary career.
2021 Summer and Fall Transfer Orientation: Register Now!
If you have under 24 transferrable credit hours (at least one full semester post-high school), as determined by your credit evaluation, you must complete FirstSTEP Orientation. Register for that event here.
Enrollment Fee
All New Transfer Undergraduate Domestic Students (not exclusively at a regional campus or in a fully online degree program) will be charged a $100 enrollment fee on their first full semester bill to Southeast. There is no separate charge for orientation.
The Transfer Orientations are held in the University Center on the corner of Henderson Street and Normal Street. Please park in the visitor lot across from the University Center. A parking permit will be mailed with your confirmation, approximately two weeks prior to your session.
At Transfer Orientation, you have the option of having our office make your advising appointment for that day, or you may opt to call your advisor to make an appointment for a different date. When you call our office, we will give you your advisor information, or you can refer to the information emailed with your credit evaluation from the Registrar's Office.
Southeast values experiential learning and open communication among faculty, staff, and students. Through interactive sessions facilitated by Southeast faculty, staff and student Orientation Leaders, you will receive "nuts and bolts" information, meet other members of your class and begin your Southeast connection.
As entering Southeast students, information about all the university resources can become overwhelming. To help you along, we have created an Orientation Handbook which lists information on classes, advising and enrollment, campus living, financial aid, and other services. (The Orientation Hanbook for Summer and Fall 2021 Enrollment will be available in early February.)

To register for Transfer Orientation, please refer to the instructions in the dates section above. Please note, all requests for reservations must be received no later than 3 business days prior to orientation.
If you are looking for a place to stay while you are here for Transfer Orientation, look no farther than the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitor's Bureau or the Jackson Chamber of Commerce for a listing of hotels, bed and breakfasts, and other lodging options.
