The Student Center for the Public Trust (StudentCPT) is a national network of college students who demonstrate a commitment to ethical leadership. At the beginning of the 21st century, unethical conduct—epitomized by scandals such as Enron and Worldcom—was eroding public confidence in the integrity of business world professionals. In response to this crisis, the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) established in 2005 the Center of the Public Trust (CPT), and thereby launched a mission to advance ethical leadership in business, institutions and organizations. Just a few years later in 2009, NASBA broadened the scope of the CPT to include colleges and universities, and the first Student Center for the Public Trust (StudentCPT) Chapter was founded.
In the Fall of 2014, with the generous support of the Missouri Society of CPAs (MSCPA), Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) became the 22nd national chapter of the NASBA StudentCPT. The SEMO StudentCPT joins Missouri chapters at the University of Missouri and Saint Louis University in providing students with opportunities to participate in training sessions, conferences, community service and business ethics competitions.Visit our Facebook Page
