University Tutorial Services is provided through Learning Assistance Programs and Student Support Services and is nationally certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Tutoring is available for enrolled University students. Tutoring is provided through scheduled appointments, and is provided on the Cape Girardeau campus, as well as at the Regional Campuses. Tutoring is provided on a first come, first served basis. Additional hours of tutoring are considered on a case by case basis. University Tutorial Services will make every effort to match all requests received, but they cannot guarantee tutor availability for all courses.
Students interested in becoming a Learning Assistant should come by the office of Learning Assistance Programs located in the Kent Library 412 and pick up a Learning Assistant Application Packet. Applicants may also print and fill out the Learning Assistant Application Packet using the link below.
All Learning Assistants must be undergraduate students and have earned an “A” or “B” in all classes they wish to tutor. Learning Assistants must also maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and a major GPA of 3.0. In addition to submitting the Learning Assistant Application, a copy of the students most recent Degree Audit along with a reference letter is required. Once all of the information is received, the applicant will be contacted.
