Southeast’s Office of Institutional Research is responsible for providing institutional research and reporting services to clients both within and outside of the University. Our services support planning, accountability, and continuous improvement processes.

Enrollment, Retention, and Academic Offerings (Fall 2023)
- Undergraduate enrollment is 8,099 and graduate enrollment is 1,587.
- Enrollment included 403 undergraduate transfer students.
- The student population is 59.1% female and 40.9% male.
- The undergraduate student population includes 7.2% Black/African American, 3.1% Hispanic, and 4.5% students from other minority ethnic groups.
- The five-year average bachelor degree seeking first time freshmen class size is 1,388 students.
- The average ACT score is 21 and the average cumulative GPA is 3.55 for full-time freshmen.
- The freshman-to-sophomore retention rate is 73.5%.

Campus Life and Athletics (Fall 2023)
- 73% of the students are from Missouri.
- Out-of-state students represent almost all 50 states, with the largest out-of-state representation being from Illinois.
- There are 1,153 international students from 64different countries studying at Southeast.
- 66% of students are using University Career Services.
- The residential student body is approximately 23%.
- More than 40% of undergraduate students are active members of a student organization and more than 800 of these students are in a direct student leadership position or participating in a University leadership development program.
- Students may choose from 18 residence halls and 8 dining locations.
- There are more than 238 student organizations.
- 11% of students are members of Greek social fraternities and sororities.
- The Student Recreation Center and the Student Aquatic Center are available for students, faculty and staff.
- More than 5,000 students participate in intramural sports or sports clubs.
- Southeast competes in NCAA Division I, Ohio Valley Conference athletics. Southeast's mascot is Rowdy the Redhawk, and the campus colors are red and black.
- Women's sports are basketball, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, track (indoor/outdoor), and volleyball. There are 149 female athletes.
- Men's sports are baseball, basketball, cross country, football, and track (indoor/outdoor). There are 221 male athletes.
- Approximately 425 students participated in dance, music, and theatre events and productions.

Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics of the Association for Institutional Research was developed to provide members of the Association with some broad ethical statements with which to guide their professional lives and identify relevant considerations when ethical uncertainties arise. It also provides a means for individuals new to the profession to learn about the ethical principles and standards that should guide the work of institutional researchers.
