Our University Police, Parking Services, Transit Services, and Emergency Preparedness are all a part of the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The department's office is located on the North side of campus by the Show Me Center, with a 24/7 hotline number to contact for assistance.

Southeast has 15 officers split among four divisions, each with an area of specialization vital to keeping the campus safe.

The Department of Public Safety has University Police Officers on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working foot patrol and vehicle patrol throughout campus.

Emergency call boxes
Southeast has established a lighted corridor running from the southernmost section of campus to the Show Me Center. Anyone in distress can press a red "HELP" button on the call box, and an officer will be dispatched to the activated phone.

Cameras are installed in campus buildings, walkways, and common areas to provide campus wide surveillance to DPS.
SE Alerts
The SE Alert system informs campus community members about emergency or criminal incidents on campus. Students, faculty, and staff , receive texts, emails, or phone calls when a campus announcement is made.

Crime Statistics
The University maintains a daily crime log and provides access to past years' crime logs. Daily crime logs include all complaints, incidents and requests for police service received by the Department of Public Safety at Southeast.
