Amanda Woods is the Office of Military and Veterans Services (OMVS) Outreach Coordinator and VA School Certifying Official. She received her Bachelor of Arts in English, with a Small-Press Publishing minor, from Southeast Missouri State University. Amanda started her professional career working in support of the Arkansas Army & Air National Guard, with the Arkansas State Military Department, as the state’s Security Manager. She assisted Service Members, state employees, and contractors with processing their background investigations, providing policy guidance, and implementing training state-wide. Amanda transitioned to working for Military Personnel Services Corporation (MPSC) as an Education, Incentives, and Employment Specialist, where she assisted Service Members, their families, and Education Offices with counseling and processing their education benefits and incentives, as well as employment services. Amanda’s passion to assist Service Members, Veterans, and their families stems from being a dependent of a Veteran herself, first, as a child, and now as a spouse of a Veteran, so she understands the lifestyle and burdens our military families face and advocates accordingly. She is driven to serve and assist military members and their families, as they have served and sacrificed for their country. With her position at OMVS, Amanda is able to carry on her passion to serve and assist, by ensuring that our military-affiliated population receives the best possible service and support, in order to obtain their desired academic and personal objectives.
