University Marketing Project Timeline Expectations

University Marketing is committed to creating high quality marketing materials and strategies for the University. While we aim to provide professional and creative services for all campus communications, we must prioritize projects that most align with the institution’s needs. To ensure this, University Marketing uses the following objectives to guide our strategic planning and project prioritization.

OBJECTIVE 1 / Develop and execute a successful integrated marketing plan that helps achieve the University's overall recruitment and fundraising goals.

OBJECTIVE 2 / Promote and strengthen the University’s reputation, brand identity, and accomplishments.

OBJECTIVE 3 / Implement consistent branding throughout campus and ignite internal and external brand champions.

OBJECTIVE 4 / Create strategic institutional communications that deepen engagement and connection with our audiences.

OBJECTIVE 5 / Support the campus community in creating, assessing, and executing strategic, data-driven marketing.

We will work diligently to find the best solution for your marketing requests; however, good work takes time! Please ensure your requests allow adequate time for planning, creating and production. Below is a rough estimate of the timeframe you can expect for projects. Contacting us early allows us the time to work your project into our schedule, create fantastic work, and meet your project’s goals.

Estimated Timeline for Project Requests

  • For marketing assistance and integrated campaigns, you should plan on 1-2 weeks of strategy time with a project manager and 4 weeks for design and creation. Allow an additional 1-2 weeks for printing and 1 additional week for mailing.
  • Allow 4 weeks for video projects. We manage a heavy video production schedule. Keep in mind that all videos will be created in a social media format, not surpassing :15-:30 seconds in length.
  • Allow 72 hours for website edit requests to be completed through our WebQ system.
  • Allow 6-8 weeks for significant web design/redesign projects (dependent upon scope).
  • Social Media, while immediate, takes time to do properly. Social media events require 4 weeks lead time to allow for scheduling, writing, and design.
  • Don't forget to add publicity to your timeline! If you want to start promoting an event 1 month before it occurs, then you must request the project approximately 3 months before the event date.
