Torie has been a counselor at Southeast since 2010. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor, and she is a member of the American Counseling Association. Torie is a certified Q.P.R. Suicide Prevention Instructor. She has a MA degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. Torie's professional interests include suicide prevention, crisis intervention, eating disorders, body image concerns, relationships, LGBTQ concerns, and mindfulness. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy from the EMDR Institute, Inc. and offers these services as clinically appropriate and scheduling permits. Torie's therapeutic interests are the integration of Humanistic and Cognitive theories with an emphasis on strengths-based interventions.
