Tobacco Free Policy FAQ
Who has to comply with this policy?
All university employees, students, or visitors on all campuses.
What does tobacco-free mean?
It means that all tobacco use is prohibited on all campuses including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, snuff, e-cigarettes and vapor.
Is there anywhere on the campuses I can use tobacco?
Why did Southeast make this change?
The health of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is our number one concern. Research has shown that tobacco use poses numerous health risks.
Can I get assistance if I want to quit using?
Southeast provides health and education related services to students, staff and faculty to assist with cessation. For more information please visit semo.edu/cessation.
How will the policy be enforced?
Any student, staff or faculty member may report a violation to the Dean of Students for students or Human Resources for staff and faculty violations.
